I built the first version of ProQuote for my best friend's dad.
He's an old-school contractor: pencil, paper, and a stack of carbon-copy invoice pads. I figured I could cut his paperwork down to minutes: digital estimates, e-signatures, online payments, the whole loop. I built a mockup and pitched it to him.
He liked it. Genuinely. But he's set in his ways, and thirty years of doing it his way beats any app. He's happy with his system, and that's fair. It's his business, not mine.
I've got family in the trades too, and I thought about building it for them next. Then I thought better of it. Family and favors don't mix, and the first person to ask for a "quick fix" at Thanksgiving would be a family member, not a customer.
My day job is in IT. Somewhere in there it clicked: I could use this myself, for the side jobs I take on. So that's what ProQuote became: a tool built by someone doing the actual work, not a product team guessing at what contractors need.
It's early. If you're tired of chasing approvals, rebuilding invoices from estimates, or piecing together the financial story of a job across different tools, give it a shot.
Build an estimate on-site, get customer approval, preserve the approved scope, manage changes, invoice the work, and track payments without entering the job twice. Customers can review and approve estimates from their phone without creating a ProQuote account or installing an app.
ProQuote also supports approved-scope history, change orders, deposits and milestone invoicing, partial-payment tracking, expenses and job profitability, recurring billing, and time tracking where the selected plan includes those features. The Free plan is available without a credit card at the current published limits.
